Charlie Ruiz is an Associate Consultant at Bandelli Associates. He brings a high performance perspective to coaching with a focus on developing a winning mindset, cultivating effective communication skills, and discovering one’s leadership brand and identity. As a former professional athlete, Charlie leverages over a decade of experience, on and off the field, to help his clients improve their leadership effectiveness at the individual, team, and organizational levels. He also specializes in executive education and training where he has worked with clients across different industries to design and deliver customized leadership programs for employees across all levels of their organizations.

Charlie has worked in all facets of leadership development. His coaching philosophy and approach starts at the individual level where he partners with clients to strengthen their self- awareness, discover key talents and capabilities, and identify blind spots and derailers that may hinder performance. With connection and trust as the foundation, his experiential style and approach helps leaders control narratives both through story and action. Over his career, Charlie has had key leadership roles in overseeing one-on-one coaching programs for enterprise clients, and has facilitated upwards of 600 + management training sessions for companies across the start-up and Fortune 100. His work spans across the technology sector, financial services, medical devices, retail, energy, pharmaceuticals, sports, media, and entertainment.

Charlie received his bachelor’s degree in Communication & Media studies from California State University, Long Beach before getting drafted in the 10th round of the MLB draft by the Colorado Rockies. Charlie’s DNA in sports lends to a unique blend of servant leadership, discipline, and developing a culture of connection and belonging. His unconventional path into coaching places an emphasis on developing a winning mindset, relationship building, and creating cultures of mutual trust and accountability.
